Something's In The Way: Explanations

Theses pieces were made exclusively for Digital Madrid 4 and the online gallery can be accessed in its entirety here.

Being raised in the south (Alabama), I was taught the disgusting truth of the past starting with my ancestors being enslaved, my great grandparents having to endure a life of racism in their own communities, and even small glimpses of past hatred (The Confederate Flag). A good number of kids I went to high school with were white and some of them proudly wore shirts and caps with the rebel flag branded very boldly. Almost like they're proud of its history. BUT! They're free to wear whatever they choose to express themselves with. The history behind the flag is a dark one however. Even recently with the South Carolina church shooting, the shoot was proudly posing in shirts with the flag. Also the flag used to be in the middle of the city until a brave african american woman climbed the flag pole and righteously removed the flag.

We all have our own mess going on in our minds. You may be thinking about fat asses and money. You may be contemplating the meaning of existence. Well I wanted to show the constant shape-shifting globular mess going on in my head. I'm consumed by it. Many may not catch on to it, but I added a few symbols that some creatives/designers may relate to.

The  red symbol is to represent the Adobe Suite logo. The orange cube is a metaphor for Adobe Illustrator. The blue box stands for Photoshop.

I used a pink glob to correlate to my design logo for Delinda Arts. The green tubes are simply representations of battery life for an iPhone which is something I use everyday.

This is my favorite piece. It should be yours as well. We are all on this planet experiencing global warming, starvation in third world countries, war, sickness, toxic drinking sources, NO drinking sources, homelessness, and greed. If a meteor were to smash into us, WE WOULD ALL DIE. Not just the blacks. Not just the whites. No race is superior to another. Black Lives Matter. Your life matters. We can all live in peace and harmony if we stop acting LIKE FUCKING MORONS! IT MOTHERFUCKING 2016 AND I'M SEEING MY YOUNG BROTHERS BEING SHOT DOWN AND PEOPLE IN KKK UNIFORMS ON TELEVISION! THIS IS SHIT THAT WAS GOING ON WHEN OUR PARENTS WERE OUR AGE! WHAT THE FUCK?! We're busy fussing over stupid shit while we could be working together to make something great! I figured if I just dumbed down the concept to multiple dots of various skin color, then this would make it easrier to realize that this can become a reality.

I BEEN WATCHING THE RADIANT CHILD BACK TO BACK TO BACK. I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT THE WAY THIS MAN CREATED A WORLD AND MADE EVERYONE ACCEPT IT. IT'S SOMETHING THAT I'M STRUGGLE TO MAKE HAPPEN! I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU A DEEPER MEANING FOR THIS PEICE. HE WAS TRULY AN ICON.

I really love Adele's music and 21 sparked that intrigue. When "Hello" dropped , memories of the first time I listened to 21 resurfaced. I remember the rainy weather, the empty gas tank in my car, the girls I had crushes on. She really gave me a feeling of seeing an old friend after years of departure.

A video surfaced of Travi$ Scott yelling in a fans face at a show: "This aint church, Nigga"

Apparently, the fan was just sitting down while Travi$ performed, which is something Travi$ hates with all his cold heart. Some called him (and still call him) a douchbag or a jerk for yelling at fans for not have the mad rage spirit that's required to attend a Travi$ Scott show. It's really just his passion for performing and he wants his fellow ragers to mosh and kick each other in the face as he conducts his fiery seances.
